SASSA Status Check Help is an independent guide to the SRD R370 grant and other SASSA grants. It explains what your status means, when you might get paid and what to do when something goes wrong. We are not SASSA, and we can’t check, approve or pay any grant.
Why this site exists
Every month, millions of South Africans check their SRD status, often on a phone with very little data. Many of the pages they find are crowded with ads, repeat old pay dates or list WhatsApp and USSD numbers that no longer work. Some even ask for an ID number.
We built this site to do the opposite: give a clear answer first, explain each status in plain English, show where every date and amount comes from, and send you to SASSA’s own channels for anything only SASSA can do.
Who runs it
The site is written and checked by N Chris. Every page shows when it was last updated. If you think something is wrong or out of date, you can tell us through the contact page, and we’ll look at it.
What we do
- Explain what each SRD status means and what to do next.
- Track SASSA pay dates, grant amounts and policy changes, with the source and date for each one.
- Show you how to apply, appeal, reapply and update your details on the official site.
- Warn you about scams, fake websites and numbers SASSA hasn’t confirmed.
What we never do
- Ask for your ID number, PIN, OTP or bank details.
- Charge you for information or promise to speed up a payment.
- Apply, appeal or change details on your behalf.
- Pretend to be SASSA or use SASSA’s logo.
How we keep information accurate
We check facts against SASSA announcements, government sources and South African news outlets before we publish them, and we date every update. You can read the details in How we verify information and our editorial policy. When we get something wrong, we fix it and record it on our corrections page.
How the site is paid for
This site is free to use. It may show ads from Google AdSense to cover hosting and running costs. Advertisers have no say in what we write, we don’t accept payment to recommend any product or service, and we ask our ad provider to block loan and gambling ads.
